Dreams Killer: Stress

There is nothing more deadly to dreams than stress unnoticed and unchecked.

According to the Merriam Webster, stress is defined as:

  1. A state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life, work etc.

  2. Something that causes strong feelings of worry or anxiety.

  3. Physical force or pressure.

Fact #1: Stress arises and it will occur.

Fact #2: There is no way getting around it.

Stress is a naturally occurring sensor all living beings experience which has helped us all survive on earth.

Knowing however what triggers stress for you is important as well.

According to WebMD, these are the four common triggers to stress:

  1. Fear and uncertainty.

  2. Attitudes and perceptions.

  3. Unrealistic expectations.

  4. Change.

Certain matters can cause stress just by the simple fact that you may feel or sense a lack/loss of control over the situation or flat out you don't have control at all.

Whether it’s a situation you have control over or not, stress management is key to embracing possibilities.

Failure to deal and manage stress effectively can cause:

  • Mental Slowness

  • Confusion

  • Negative Attitudes/Thoughts

  • Constant Worry

  • Your Mind Racing

  • Difficulty Concentrating

  • Forgetfulness

  • Difficulty Thinking in a Logical Sequence

  • Feelings of Being Overwhelmed

  • Inability to Problem Solve

  • Health Decline

Don't be afraid or overwhelmed by stress; furthermore, don't let stress be the murderer of your dreams and goals. Take time to management your stress and I find out what your triggers to embrace possibilities.
