Using a journal is an exploration of your own self and the world around you as it relates to you.

Some people think that writing a journal is extremely a narcissistic but that is not true. It is the first step of moving inside you. When you look inside yourself you will realize that you know so much more than what you thought you knew.

As a result. this will help you to also be able to counsel yourself with your inner guidance.

There are various ways which a journal can help you in self-discovery and inner awareness.

Write Whatever You Want

Starting out you may not know what to write in the journal and that’s okay. The good thing about a journal is that you can put down whatever you want.

When you are writing journal you do not have to put down everything in a day, matter or situation, but merely what you were thinking of that particular time. Write about whatever is resonating with you.

May be when you were taking the dog for a walk you saw somebody crying that will make you stop and reflect. You should reflect about what you studied and the reason why you do something.

Write Whenever You Want

There are times that you do not know the right time to write. Just know that journal can be written in, anytime.

Try if possible, choosing a time window that is standard can help build consistency and familiarity. For example, you can choose to write a journal at least twice or three times a week.

You can either write in the morning or evening or both morning and evening. It is very important if you choose a standard time so that you can have a guide to discussing and writing during these times.  

A Journal Can Be Anything

Some people also find it hard to buy a personal journal or some do not know where to write a journal. This is not a complicated thing and you can journal in an ordinary book. You can also go to the streets and find a cheap notebook which will help you as much. Journals have gone digital as well with mobile apps and you can write your thoughts right on your smartphone.

Journaling: a Practice of Possibilities

You can be able to learn more about yourself and also remark on things that you have observed. Having a journal is a superb way to work through a series of views, look for self discovery questions and help you have an insight into areas unknown before starting to journal.
