How Negative People Will Kill You (And How Protect Yourself From Negativity Homicide)

Ever heard the saying, “One sour apple, ruins the bunch.” Well there maybe some scientific evidence to support it.

Yes it’s very true that a negative person aka the toxic person is detrimental to your health and beware it is very contagious.

A report by Wired, suggests that emotions move in patterns similar to what has been identified from epidemiological modes of disease.

And there are even more horrific implications.

Research has proven that negativity is infectious permitting to spread like a cold.

“Even a small amount of negative brain activity can lead to a weakened immune system, making you more prone to illness, and even lead to a heart attack or a stroke,” (Elle Kaplan, Medium).

Negativity also affects a person’s ability to think critically, effectively and can skew perspectives.

From a scientific standpoint, negativity minimizes the effectiveness of the neurons in the hippocampus of which is responsible for reasoning and memory in the brain.

That is why you must be on guard from negative people, negative conversations and negative vibes.

Here are some simple ways you can protect yourself from negativity homicide:

Get rid of negative people if you can. That bad news boyfriend or girlfriend, your homegirl Debbie Downer, your roll dog Doubting Tom and the bad news Bear, time to let them go and move on.

Do not engage. Do not engage nor sit around anyone or anything that has nothing good to say about anyone or anything. Gossip is a choice. Pick your battles. If you know someone is trying to find a bone to pick, don’t give them the time or day, to pick one up with you. Choose the high road for your sake.

Inject your vibe. Don’t allow someone negativity to cloud the environment especially in a public or work setting that

may be difficult to evade. Speak on the good. Smile often. Choose and follow the alternative to what the negative mood is trying to setup. If the negative person is feeding fear into the air, you feed hope. They are feeding not good enough, feed gratitude.

Give and give joyfully. Studies show that giving creates long-lasting feelings of joy within yourself, and can provides that a positive boost to your own mood all the while making a difference in something and/or someone’s else life.
