Establishing A Core Value System

Core values are the guiding principles that dictate thoughts, feelings, action and ultimately; lifestyle (your daily life path).

Core values help you establish the driving forces behind your path and journey to success.


Do you have a core value system?


Have you written this core value system down formally to review from time to time?


If you've answered yes to both of these questions, great!


If you've answered no to one of these questions, here are some things to ask yourself to establish a solid core value system.

Establishing a core value system:

  1. What is important to me?

  2. What is not important to me?

  3. Are there outside influences I am motivated by (ex: children, spouse, family society) and why?

  4. What are the defining moments of my life?

  5. What are things I need in my life?

  6. What are things I don't need in my life?

  7. Who are important accountability partners to my core value system?

  8. Who are the type of people that hinder me living out my core value system?

  9. What does it mean to live out my core values?

Once you've establish a core value system, you must consider whether your lifestyle aligns with what you say is important so you can align your actions and environment accordingly.


Does my core values align with the life I am leading?

  1. Does my lifestyle support or hinder my core value system?

  2. Are my relationships aligned with my core value system?

  3. What careers and professional endeavors support my core value system?

  4. What things must I let to go so I can align better with my core values?

  5. What things must I embrace to align better with my core values?

Remember: If you have no values, you have no clear path to success.
